Chuck Palahniuk

I have never been a fan of books made into movies but I have to admit, I have to make an exception for Chuck Palahniuk.

For those who are not familiar of dear ol’ Chuck, he also wrote Fight Club, the book upon which Brad Pitt’s movie of the same title was based on.  That was only the first of two, highly commendable book-movie tie-in.  Fifteen minutes into the movie, I already knew Edward Norton and Brad Pitt were one person but the presentation is still applaudable.  Nice one, David Fincher.

I thought that would be the first and last of Chuck on the big screen but I was wrong.  Another one of my favorite actors, Sam Rockwell, literally brought Victor from Choke into the big screen and I must say, he did a pretty good job.  They also did a good job on preserving the story.  It was like having the book read to you except you are listening with your eyes.  From his bonkers mum to his bonkers best friend Denny to his bonkers self, the details were right in place.  I have never believed in actors crossing over from on-cam to off-cam but Clark Gregg shares the exception with Clint Eastwood on this one.
